Footworks teaches Residency with the Berea College Country Dancers


In early 2015 the Berea College County Dancers' Director, Deborah Thompson, brought Footworks to Berea, Kentucky to teach and choreograph for the 76 year old Berea College Country Dancers. Founding Director, Eileen Carson Schatz, with assistance from Rehearsal Captain Marsha Searle, taught clogging, arts integration, and movement to Education and Dance majors and other dance classes on campus. They also choreographed and taught a new Southern Appalachian Suite to add to the Berea College County Dancers' repertoire. Footworks' Musical Director, Mark Schatz, assisted with musical arrangements, taught instrumental classes to students in the music program, and performed the music for the unveiling of the new suite! What a pleasure and honor to work with such a revered and long standing company!
